Personality isn't just what you were born with. It's also what happened to you.

A note from Kimberly

When I look at palm trees, they all feel so different to me. Like each one has its own personality, and its own way of standing in the world. Some palms grow close to walls, almost like they’re hiding in case anyone gets too close (The One With Trust Issues). Some come from the same place and end up nothing like each other (The Cycle Breaker). Some are surrounded by all this beauty and perfect light, and still feel a little lonely somehow (The Total Sweetheart). And some just keep growing way past whatever tried to stop them (The Recovering Good Girl). I can see parts of myself in all of them. And the closer you look, the more you’ll start to recognize yourself looking right back.

"I spent a long time trying to figure out what was wrong with me. But the truth is, I was just shaped by everything I’d been through. I think all of us are."
— Kimberly Genevieve

Whoever you are right now, messy, complicated, still figuring it out, that's the version that belongs on your wall.
